Mel Gibson Has A Nice, Quiet Night Out With A Couple Of Friends

LOS ANGELES, USA (The Global Edition) – Mel Gibson, the controversial 56-year-old Hollywood film star, had a nice and quiet night on the town with couple of his closest friends, Variety is reporting.

The director of such films as “The Passion of the Christ” and “Apocalypto” was spotted last night dining with a small group of friends at a fine restaurant in West Hollywood, where other diners say he talked peacefully for several hours, sources say.

Mr. Gibson said he enjoyed his tranquil night on the town. “I had a lovely time last night,” Mr. Gibson told a reporter from Variety. “We don’t have the chance to meet as a group very often, since all of us are very busy with our careers and families, so it’s kind of a special occasion when we all actually manage to sync our schedules and meet for a drink,” the film star added.

The group drew the attention of the entire restaurant with their normal behavior, especially when Mr. Gibson gave a big tip to an African-American waiter despite the fact that he’d spilled a drink on the film star’s leg midway through the meal.

As the night came to an end, Variety reports that Mr. Gibson drove home in a sober state, apparently exhausted by the quiet evening. Before entering his home, Mr. Gibson reportedly consumed a liter of tequila, gave a friendly middle finger to the local police squad, waved to a neighbor before calling him a “money-grubbing Jew”, and punched his wife on their front lawn.
