Ghanaian Fails To Take Olympic Gold He Personally Excavated

LONDON (The Global Edition) – 17-year-old Ghanaian bantamweight boxer Emmanuel Amissah failed to win the Olympic medal which was made from the gold he personally excavated, the local media reports.

“I am so disappointed”, said the Ghanaian. “I know everybody came here to win, and the gold medal would really mean a lot to them, but I assure you, it would mean a lot more to me than any of them because I’ve spent weeks of my life digging for it in our Galamsey mine in the hot sun,” added Mr. Amissah.

The Ghanaian bantamweight boxer who did not take elimination from the tournament that well, also said that he has “worked really hard for these Olympic games and has the scars on his back to prove it.”

Mr. Amissah’s coach said that Emmanuel is going on a well deserved rest because in only two months he begins training for the African boxing championship. Judging by the results on the Olympics, he will need to sign him up for a lot more “galamsey” gigs to get himself back into winning condition.
