Daniel Day-Lewis To Play Meryl Streep In Next Movie

HOLLYWOOD (The Global Edition) — The record-breaking three times Best Actor Oscar winner Daniel Day-Lewis announced that in his next role he will play Meryl Streep. “There is nothing left to challenge me. This is an actor’s dream. I get to play an icon and I get to wear silky underwear,” Lewis said to the press, after accepting his award for “Lincoln” at last night’s Academy Award Ceremony.
Day-Lewis, famous for his method acting was seen yesterday at Victoria Secret purchasing a negligee for preparation for the role. “I plan on preparing for this character as I would any other. I will live Meryl Streep, I will sleep Meryl Streep, I will be Meryl Streep.” As Day-Lewis was saying those words, his accent changed from British to Polish to Hungarian to Australian to Brooklyn.
The film, “A woman of One Thousand Accents,” starts filming in March will be directed by Academy Award winning director, Ang Lee , co-stars Sally Field as Robert DeNiro and Cameron Diaz and the late John Cazale.
Ms. Streep, who will be acting as a consultant on the film said, “I am honored to have an actor of such high quality playing me and further honored to get a small but pivotal role in the film.”
Although Ms. Streep would not confirm, nor deny the rumor, it is believed that she will play Tommy Lee Jones in the picture.
